Day 13 – Joy
Proverbs 14:18 The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Soter – Savior
- Kurios – Supreme Authority
- Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
- Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
- God’s character:
- Wisdom
- Knowledge
We have a current global population of 8.27 billion people. You know with that many people you will find people engaged in folly, mischief, and those whose lives are guided by wisdom and the pursuit of knowledge.
Israel’s population during the reign of King Solomon was in the millions. Solomon saw the behavior of many people in Jerusalem and the foreign nations he did business with. He saw people engaged in mischief and he saw those who lived their lives with wisdom and knowledge, letting Elohiym guide them.
When you became a Christian, you became part of two populations — the current population, making up 8.27 billion people, and the population of the Body of Christos. You have also seen people who live their lives displaying folly, living their lives as one big joke. And you know those who live their lives in tune with Yeshuwa and what He desires for their lives.
Your life is governed by the decisions you make. As a Christian, Yeshuwa governs your life. When you open your Bible, you see what He desires for you. Do you engage in mischief? Or do you display the wisdom of the Hagios Pneuma in your daily life?
It’s not wrong to have fun. It’s not wrong to take a holiday and enjoy the pleasures Yeshuwa provided for you. What’s wrong is when your fun turns to folly, and mischief becomes your way of life.
Solomon said everything has a season, a purpose.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; 7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
It’s all there — every experience you will have during your life, including a time of laughter.
Joy is built into you as a child of Yeshuwa.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Pneuma is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Joy is one of the fruits of the Hagios Pneuma. Yeshuwa wants you to enjoy your life. What He doesn’t want is for you to turn your joy into folly.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for providing a life of joy in You. Help me to live in Your joy and not turn that joy into folly and destroy my testimony. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
