Most people during their lives will find themselves in a courtroom. It could be a small matter, or they could face a jury trial. In case of a jury trial, they need a counselor who will advocate for them. They might find a counselor helpful in small matters as well. In jury trials, witnesses come forward and pledge to tell the whole truth with one hand raised and the other on a Bible.
In Solomon’s day, they had the Torah. The priest was their advocate and judge. They knew the Law and the consequences they were to administer for crimes whether the punishment was restitution or death.
Yeshuwa is your (Parakletos) Advocate. When you became His child, you realized your sin kept you from spending eternal life with Him and you confessed your sin. As your Advocate, Yeshuwa presented you before His Pater, the Judge with His blood covering you. When the Judge saw the blood of Yeshuwa covering you, He declared you not guilty and forgave your sin. He wiped the evidence of it from the record.
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV)
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have a Parakletos with the Pater, Iesous Christos the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
Satan hauls you and your sin before the Judge, declaring your guilt, waiting eagerly for the pronouncement of guilt. However, your Parakletos stands before His Pater and shows Him His blood covers you. The moment the Pater sees the blood, His declaration is firm – not guilty. Yeshuwa stands in the gap for you, interceding for you, and shows the Judge your humble and contrite spirit.
Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our Theos, and the power of His Christos have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our Theos day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the (Arnion) Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Psalm 34:18 JEHOVAH is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as having a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but JEHOVAH delivers him out of them all. 20 He guards his bones; not one of them is broken. 21 Evil will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. 22 JEHOVAH redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him will be condemned.
2 Timothy 3:10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Kurios delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christos Iesous will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Because you are a Christian, you will suffer persecution at the hands of wicked people. However, as Paul showed Timothy, Kurios delivered him from everything they purposed against him. Yeshuwa was his Parakletos. He is also your Parakletos. Every time you confess your sin, He advocates for you. The only judgment the Pater can make is NOT GUILTY.
What sin do you need to confess? Confess now, don’t hesitate. It is better to live pardoned, than to continue to live with the weight of sin on your life and Satan condemning everything you do.
Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. Satan brings my sin before Your throne daily. Your Son’s blood covers me. Forgive me as Your Word promises and let me live in the freedom of a pardoned life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
