From early on people are taught to think before they speak or do anything that could land them in a world of hurt.
Not only was this good advice in Solomon’s day when people went to war over any provocation, it’s sound advice today also. Throughout the Torah, JEHOVAH told His people He was slow to anger, abounding in mercy.
Psalm 103:8 JEHOVAH is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
Exodus 34:6 And JEHOVAH passed before him and proclaimed, “JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH El, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
As Christians, Yeshuwa is your example. He showed mercy, grace, patience, goodness, forgiveness, and truth wherever He went.
Paul in his letter to the Galatians, said they were to display the fruit of the Pneuma, something Yeshuwa displayed every day. It was in everything He did and said.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Pneuma is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
When you follow Yeshuwa’s example, instead of allowing the world to decide your actions, you will have peace in your life.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to be like Your Son, displaying the fruit of the Spirit in my life in everything I do and say. Help me to show compassion and love to everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
