Day 26 – Righteousness
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Adonay – God’s proper name
- Bara – Creator
- Soter – Savior
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- Kurios – Supreme Authority
- God’s character:
- Righteous
When a country has a wise ruler, the people are happy, uncomplaining, and the country profits from the wisdom displayed from the president or monarch.
With Israel’s long history of kings, there were only a handful who obeyed JEHOVAH, and sought Him in the decisions he made for the good of the country. However, bad kings turned the hearts of the people away from Elohiym. Solomon was a wise king. JEHOVAH said there wouldn’t be another like him before or after. You also know he made some bad decisions where his wives were concerned. If he had stuck to one wife, he wouldn’t have drifted away from JEHOVAH. However, we know he did, and it helped that he did, because when he came back to his senses, he realized the only thing a person could do was to worship Adonay.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now your Bara in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”. — 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear Elohiym and keep His commandments, for this is man’s everything. 14 For Elohiym will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
You see that with Solomon’s life, though he strayed from Elohiym for a season, he came back and Adonay was the center of his life again.
This gives you hope for your family members who aren’t walking in Yeshuwa. They backslid, but they know the truth and one day that truth will pull them back into Yeshuwa’s arms. Never give up praying for your loved ones.
You might be on the receiving end of those prayers. You returned to Yeshuwa. There is always hope.
The other side of Solomon’s proverb is how sin destroys a nation. When a leader doesn’t know Yeshuwa and their elohiym sits in their pocket, he will destroy the nation. You saw that through Israel’s long history of evil kings. You see it today among the leaders of the world. You hear how corrupt they are with every breath they take. Wisdom doesn’t have a home in their lives any more than Yeshuwa does.
Don’t give up praying for your leader. They need your prayers as much as your loved ones who strayed from Yeshuwa. You don’t know whether they never accepted Him as a child or young adult. The only thing you can do for your leader is pray for them.
1 Timothy 2:1 Therefore, I exhort first that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and everyone in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of Theos our Soter, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Paul didn’t say to complain about them. He said to pray for them. Yeshuwa’s heart is for their salvation. To turn from their wicked ways and embrace Him as their Soter and Kurios.
2 Peter 3:9 The Kurios is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance.
Before you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you were far from the kingdom of Theos. Someone prayed for you. Do the same for those you love. Pray for your leaders so they too will know Yeshuwa and use wisdom to rule the country, and not the elohiym in their pocket.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to pray for my leaders and not speak against them. Give them wisdom to rule the country, so that the country will know Your wisdom in everything they do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
