Day 28 – Favor

Proverbs 14:35 The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, but his wrath is against him who causes shame.

  • God’s names:
  • Melek – King
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • Pneuma – Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
  • Iesous – Jesus
  • Christos – Anointed one, Messiah
  • God’s character:
  • Wisdom
  • Judge
  • Favor

People want to be well liked by their peers and those in authority. They want their favor in everything they do — work and pleasure. They don’t want to suffer judgment from those same people.

Solomon bestowed favor on those who displayed wisdom in everything they did. However, his judgment was immediate to those who caused shame.

If your life has been one of hardship, judgment, and shame, it might seem impossible to believe that Yeshuwa could show you favor and blessings. You received peer judgement throughout your life. How do you change your life?

It takes intentionality to make a change and see Yeshuwa’s favor. At first, His blessings will feel accidental — that they don’t belong to you. However, when you live your life with wisdom, His blessings will multiply.

You start the change by spending time with Yeshuwa in Bible study, going to church, being around other believers who will encourage you in your faith. This is especially important as a new Christian. New believers don’t believe anything good could come to them when hardship and disappointment have been their life. Satan will hound them with doubt, try to make them believe nothing good could come to them, and try to make them doubt their salvation and Yeshuwa couldn’t love a person like them.

Satan is a liar. When you said yes to Yeshuwa, you became His child. His favor rested on you the moment you made that decision. With intentionality, you can find His favor and blessings every day.

Become a wise servant. Read your Bible every day. Pray. Spend time with other believers in Bible study and going to church. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you and become an encourager to those whose faith isn’t strong. Every Christian starts in the same place you did.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of Theos in Christos Iesous for you. 19 Do not quench the Pneuma. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test everything; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

When you put this into practice, you become intentional in your faith, and you will find favor and blessings in your life every day.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the Theos of peace will be with you.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Intentionality will bring favor and blessings to your life.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to be intentional in everything I do for You. Show me Your favor and bless me because I am Your child. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
