Day 32 – Instruction
Proverbs 15:5 A fool despises his father’s instruction, but he who receives correction is prudent.
- God’s name:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- God’s character:
- Just
- Teacher
Many adult children believe they know more than their fathers and will do things their way only to realize their fathers were right.
Solomon paid attention to the instruction he received from his father. He knew his father sought JEHOVAH in everything he did, and he saw how JEHOVAH was with him. He knew that forsaking his father’s instructions would not go well for him because it would mean the same thing as forsaking JEHOVAH. He encouraged everyone to listen to their fathers who listened to Elohiym. To do otherwise, would be foolish.
Many Christians believe they can bypass the instructions of people with more maturity than they have and proceed to live their Christian life on their terms.
Paul continually told the churches to listen to their elders and not bypass the steps that would draw them closer to Yeshuwa. He told them they needed to spend time in worship and prayer, not forsaking the assembling of themselves together. They needed each other and the strength they found in Yeshuwa when they gathered around His Word.
Hebrews 10:24 Let us consider one another to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
What gives you strength in Yeshuwa? Isn’t it in spending time in Bible study and prayer, gathering with other believers in Bible study, going to church not only to receive the Word from the pulpit but also to receive encouragement from each other?
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You cannot live the Christian life alone. You need others to help you, pray for you, and encourage you in your Christian life.
Let’s pray: Father, help me to look to other Christians for support and encouragement as I read and study Your Word. Help me to encourage other Christians and show them Your love. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
