Day 34 – Doctrine

Proverbs 15:7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the fool does not do so.

  • God’s names:
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • Huios of Theos – Son of God
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • God’s character:
  • Wisdom
  • Knowledge

People like listening to those who know what they’re talking about. They walk away from those with foolish ideologies. They take what they hear with a grain of salt — skepticism, doubt, and reservation.

Solomon dealt with many people as king of Israel and as an employer. He heard what they said and saw what they did. He chose wise counselors to help with the affairs of the kingdom.

As Christians, you too must consider everything you hear. Not everything lines up with Yeshuwa’s Word.

Ephesians 4:11 He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christos, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Huios of Theos, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christos; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in everything into Him who is the head—Christos— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

When you search Scripture and not only accept what you hear, but also verify it with Yeshuwa’s Word, you are a wise person, giving yourself to knowledge and not to everything you hear.

There are many denominations and religions in the world. Only those who teach and preach the inerrant Word of Theos, verified by what you read in Yeshuwa’s Word can be trusted. As Paul said, there are many people who preach a different gospel.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christos, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christos. 8 However, even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

People who profess to be Christians, who talk like Christians, and behave like Christians can lead you away from Yeshuwa’s Word with ease. You must back up every word you hear with Yeshuwa’s Word. If it isn’t in there, it’s false doctrine. Walk away.

Let’s pray: Father, open my ears to hear only what You say through Your Word. Help me discern Your truth from the lies of the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
