Day 38 – Wisdom
Proverbs 15:12 A scoffer does not love one who corrects him, nor will he go to the wise.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- God’s character:
- Teacher
- Wisdom
- Understanding
- Knowledge
You see scoffers or bullies in every stage of your life. As children they were on the playground taunting you about your ability to play a game, in the classroom with your lack of understanding, in the workplace with your slow ability to learn the work or your lifestyle. You will find them everywhere. You can’t reason with them. They listen to their own wisdom and not what people try to tell them is right and not harmful to others. They glean joy in making people’s lives miserable.
Solomon saw those people everyday in his role as the king of Israel. People always came to his court. He saw their attitudes and what they brought with them to try to puff themselves up and tear others down in the process. Solomon set his purpose on JEHOVAH’S Law. His teacher was his father, David, who always looked to Elohiym for encouragement and direction.
When you became a Christian, you also brought your lifestyle with you. If you were a bully or scoffer, you needed to bring it in line with Yeshuwa’s Word. More than likely, you weren’t a scoffer because their only elohiym is themselves. Instead, you learned how to turn the other cheek, and walk away from taunts that aimed to belittle you. You sought Yeshuwa’s wisdom and encouragement through reading His Word, gathering with other believers in Bible study, prayer, and in the quiet reflection of Yeshuwa’s Word in your daily study.
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
When you start each day in Yeshuwa’s Word, He will direct your path so that when scoffers try to make light of your relationship with Yeshuwa, you can walk away. Confronting them only adds fuel to their fire and their self-importance. You will not win any battles in confrontation. You will win when you walk away. That’s wisdom. That’s listening to Yeshuwa.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (NKJV)
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in JEHOVAH with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In everything acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear JEHOVAH and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
Let Yeshuwa guide your life. When you do, scoffers will be unable to touch you. They will walk away defeated because they can’t touch Yeshuwa who lives in you.
Let’s pray: Father, You are the one I look to when Satan comes against me to bully me and my relationship with You. Give me your strength to stand strong in You and align myself with Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
