Day 40 – Knowledge and Understanding

Proverbs 15:14 The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

  • God’s names:
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • Iesous – Jesus
  • God’s character:
  • Understanding
  • Knowledge

Education is important and those who seek to further their education will reap the benefits of good employment. They will have better understanding than those who believe they don’t need education. Without education, their mouths will follow where their thoughts lead them — down foolish paths.

Solomon knew that the best way to get understanding and knowledge was to read and study JEHOVAH’S Law. He saw what happened to people who didn’t know JEHOVAH’S Law. They were ignorant undisciplined fools.

Many Christians lived foolish lives before they said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios. They lived their lives the way they wanted. Even with a good education and a good job, if they lived their lives on their own terms, they were still foolish.

It is only by turning your life over to Yeshuwa that you will gain understanding and knowledge. He will guide you in the truth of His Word as you read and study it so you can know Yeshuwa’s heart and mind.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Only by being diligent about spending time in Yeshuwa’s Word will you gain the understanding you need as a Christian. His Word will keep you from sin because it will be rooted in your heart.

Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!

Colossians 2:6 As you have therefore received Christos Iesous the Kurios, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

With Yeshuwa’s Word living in your heart, you will live a thankful life established with faith, knowledge, and understanding.

Is your life rooted in Yeshuwa’s Word? Do you seek His understanding and knowledge when you begin a new day? Do you spend time in His Word so that it is rooted in you? Or do other Christians see your foolish ways?

Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word be rooted and alive in me so that I will not sin against You, and people will see that my faith, understanding, and knowledge comes only from You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
