Day 42 – Love
Proverbs 15:16 Better is a little with the fear of JEHOVAH, than great treasure with trouble. 17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fatted calf with hatred.
- God’s name:
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

- Soter – Savior
- Kurios – Supreme Authority
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
- God’s character:
- Provider

- Peace
- Kindness
- Mercy
- Forgiveness
Life always feels better when people get along with each other. Trouble seems to evaporate because people work together to take care of each other. Love and friendship spark laughter instead of hatred. Even food tastes better. You gain nothing when hatred walks in the door. Hatred divides. Love heals.
Solomon knew what hatred did to family dynamics. His brothers were a good example of disharmony and dysfunction. One brother slept with all his father’s concubines and wanted to take over the kingdom from his father. One brother raped his sister. One brother wanted his father’s concubine. He didn’t live with love; he lived with dysfunction. He tried to bring peace and harmony to the kingdom. His reign was known for peace not war. He was the only king in Israel who didn’t go to war with neighboring countries. Solomon also knew that awe and reverence for JEHOVAH healed dysfunction and brought harmony to the kingdom.
What did you want when you said yes to Yeshuwa? Were you looking for peace and harmony in your life? Did you have the same family dynamics Solomon had? Did love seem impossible?
All Christians look for something they didn’t have in their lives. In most cases it’s love and peace. When you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, you expected instant harmony with your family. It didn’t happen. Love and peace only come when YOU set about to make it happen. Depending on your family to suddenly support your new life is asking the impossible. You need to show the love of Yeshuwa Christos to your family. You need to forgive and show mercy and kindness to those who generate hate. When people see your new life, they will come around to what you offer. They will want peace and love in their lives also.
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the Theos of love and peace will be with you.
Everything tastes better when love and peace sit at the table.
Let’s pray: Father, help me bring peace and love to those around me. Let it shape my conversation and my actions. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
