Day 45 – Worthy

Proverbs 15:20 A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man despises his mother. 21 Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, but a man of understanding walks uprightly.

  • God’s names:
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • God’s character:
  • Wisdom
  • Discernment
  • Understanding
  • Righteous

Children often complain that their parents love another sibling better than themselves, claiming their parents play favorites. The favored one is more obedient, excels in ways the others don’t. It seems unfair. They don’t understand that if they used wisdom and discretion in what they did, they would also find favor, and not be destitute of understanding and discernment, walking as foolish people and not in the uprightness that comes from living in wisdom and discernment.

Solomon understood what made his father glad and enjoyed his father’s favor. He saw the folly of his brothers and determined to walk in the uprightness of JEHOVAH.

Many Christians have trouble believing Yeshuwa loves them. They said yes to Him and hope to live up to His standards so they can feel worthy of the love they hear He gives freely to everyone — everyone but them. They don’t understand they don’t need to earn Yeshuwa’s love. He loves them unconditionally. They don’t understand they already made Him glad when they accepted Him as Soter and Kurios. They feel unworthy and do whatever they can to feel worthy of the love He gives.

Satan keeps Christians from understanding the truth about Yeshuwa’s love. They despise not only themselves, but Elohiym. They believe they will never measure up because Satan is in their ears telling them they won’t.

Understand this: You don’t need to measure up. You don’t need to earn Yeshuwa’s love. You don’t need to compete with other Christians for love and forgiveness. You already have it. When He died on the cross for you, He proclaimed your worthiness. You don’t need to despise yourself or other Christians, you only need to accept that you are a favored child of Yeshuwa — worthy of every blessing He promises in His Word.

Many children who don’t understand how much their parents love them, despise them and bring shame to them. When you understand that your parents love you unconditionally, you will find favor and your parents will be glad. The same is true for Yeshuwa. He holds nothing against you. When He died on the cross, He died for you. You became His favored child. The only shame you bring is on yourself, not Yeshuwa.

Isaiah 53:1 Who believed our report? And to whom has the arm of JEHOVAH been revealed? 2 For He will grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by Elohiym, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and JEHOVAH has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people, He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked—but with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10 Yet it pleased JEHOVAH to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He will see His seed, He will prolong His days, and the pleasure of JEHOVAH will prosper in His hand. 11 He will see the labor of His soul and be satisfied. By His knowledge, My righteous Servant will justify many, for He will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore, I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Yeshuwa took your sins, your shame, your unworthiness, and nailed them to the cross and proclaimed your worthiness through His blood.

Don’t listen to Satan’s lies. Claim your place in Yeshuwa as His dearly beloved son or daughter.

Let’s pray: Father, Your Son took my sin and shame, nailed it to the cross and made me worthy. Help me to live without judgment and rejection. Let me realize that I make You glad because I said yes to Your Son as my Savior and Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
