Day 49 – Words

Proverbs 15:26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to JEHOVAH, but the words of the pure are pleasant.

  • God’s names:
  • JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • Logos – Word
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • Pater – Father
  • Iesous – Jesus
  • God’s character:
  • Pure

Have you listened to someone speak without talking? Everything they say has no foundation to it. It’s useless words. When someone speaks who has something to say, the words they speak bring life to the hearer, they’re pleasant on the ears where the other speaker brings nothing noteworthy to your life.

As king of Israel, Solomon heard many people say things with no foundation of truth behind what they said. However, when someone spoke who trusted in JEHOVAH to fill their mouth with His Word, the words they spoke brought life.

When you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, it was because you heard words that brought life to your soul. Yeshuwa is the Logos of life. Every word He gives you brings life to your soul.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with Theos, and the Logos was Theos.

Philippians 2:14 Do everything without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of Theos without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christos that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. 17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me.

1John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Logos of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Pater and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Pater and with His Huios Iesous Christos. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

Satan speaks, but the words he speaks bring death to the soul. They leave people hollow and unfulfilled. On the surface his words sound good to the ears, but when you think about what he said, they have no foundation of truth behind them. He offers the hearer false promises. You can see the results of the many people who listen to him with evil running rampant throughout the earth. Everyone who listens to him, brings death to their soul.

You have a choice — words that bring life or words that bring death. It’s not a hard choice. Be aware of the words you hear.

Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word fill my heart and soul that I may speak only what You give me so the hearer will know the truth of Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
