Do you know people who live only to make money, so they can buy everything their heart desires, but give nothing away. They hoard until they cannot move in their homes. Do you know people with generous hearts who give even when it looks like they have nothing to give?

Wealth is important to many people. They will do whatever it takes to accumulate as much as they can.

JEHOVAH asked Solomon what He could give him when he became king in Israel. Solomon asked for wisdom to rule the people. Because Solomon wanted to do right by the people, Elohiym also gave him wealth. Solomon was the wealthiest man on Earth at the time, but he was also the most generous.

When the queen of Sheba came to his kingdom and saw his wealth, she also saw how well his servants lived and how he took care of the people in his kingdom.

1 Kings 10:1 Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of JEHOVAH, she came to test him with hard questions. 2 She came to Jerusalem with a great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about everything in her heart. 3 Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing too difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her. 4 When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, 5 the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of JEHOVAH, there was no more spirit in her. 6 Then she said to the king, “It was a true report which I heard in my land about your words and your wisdom. 7 However, I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed, half had not been told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard. 8 Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom! 9 Blessed be JEHOVAH your Elohiym, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because JEHOVAH has loved Israel forever, therefore, He made you king, to do justice and righteousness.” 10 Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

It was because of Solomon’s generosity that the queen of Sheba gave him riches.

1 Kings 3:5 At Gibeon JEHOVAH appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and Elohiym said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” 6 Solomon said, “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. 7 Now, O JEHOVAH my Elohiym, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore, give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who can judge this great people of Yours?” 10 The speech pleased Adonay, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then Elohiym said to him, “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor will any like you arise after you. 13 I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there will not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. 14 If you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

Elohiym honors a generous heart. Solomon’s life is an example of his generosity because he asked for wisdom not wealth.

What kind of person were you before you said yes to Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios? Were you a hoarder or were you generous. Did your lifestyle remain the same after you said yes to Him?

Yeshuwa told a parable about a man who built bigger and better barns for his crops.

Luke 12:13 Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Didaskalos, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” 15 He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” 16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store my crops and my goods. 19 Then I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”” 20 But Theos said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ 21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward Theos.”

When you give with a generous heart because you love Yeshuwa with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, He will honor you.

Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says JEHOVAH of tsaba, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor will the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” says JEHOVAH of tsaba; 12 “And all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says JEHOVAH of tsaba.

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (NKJV)

Philippians 4:19 And my Theos shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.

Adonay will honor your generosity when you honor Him.

Let’s pray: Father, give me a generous heart that honors You in everything I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
