People often sing the praises of others during introductions for various reasons. They say they stand in awe of them and honor them for their many contributions. Yet how true are the words they speak? Words puff up a person, make them feel like they mean something to the people who honor them. However, how they really feel about the person is never spoken aloud except in the privacy of their home.

Solomon told the people that the awe of JEHOVAH was instruction in wisdom. JEHOVAH alone deserved awe and reverence for everything He did. He then told the people that before honor is humility.

How does humility honor JEHOVAH? Why is humility a character of JEHOVAH?

It is easy for Christians to accept the awe and reverence of JEHOVAH. You know He is eternal. You know He teaches wisdom because He is wisdom. You know He is honorable in everything. JEHOVAH is also humble.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christos Iesous, 6 who, being in the form of Theos, did not consider it robbery to be equal with Theos, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore, Theos also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Iesous every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Iesous Christos is Kurios, to the glory of Theos the Pater.

When JEHOVAH sent His Huios to Earth, He came in obedience and humbleness of spirit for one purpose — yours and my salvation. The greatest gift JEHOVAH gave you is His Huios.

John 3:16 “For Theos so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Huios, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For Theos did not send His Huios into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Yeshuwa’s purpose when JEHOVAH His Pater, sent Him to Earth is your salvation.

When you think about what Yeshuwa came to do for you, it’s easy to stand in awe of Him, to give Him honor and glory. It’s easy to accept His wisdom and authority as you study His Word. He came as a humble bondservant in total obedience to His Pater.

You know He came as a servant. However the only time you think about His servanthood is during Lent leading up to Easter. Then you see how He humbled Himself before men and took up His cross and died for you. You sing praises about His humble spirit, and then when the celebration of Easter is over, you put away His humble spirit for another year. You do it in the same way you put away the baby in the manger for another year when Christmas is over.

Yeshuwa left heaven for you. Heaven is the place of JEHOVAH’S glory and praise. Ezekiel and Revelation tell of the splendour of heaven. You want to go there one day to walk those streets of gold and worship Him before His throne. You don’t realize He gave up the splendor of heaven to walk on dusty streets and live among the people He created.

What did we do to Him?

Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of JEHOVAH been revealed? 2 For He will grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by Elohiym, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and JEHOVAH has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked—but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10 Yet it pleased JEHOVAH to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He will see His seed, He will prolong His days, and the pleasure of JEHOVAH will prosper in His hand. 11 He will see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Ebed will justify many, for He will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore, I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Only a humble Elohiym could humble Himself for you and go to the cross for your salvation. This is the Elohiym you will bow to and reverence and stand in awe of when you see Him face to face. Only Yeshuwa deserves the honor, glory, and praise because no one on Earth can do what He did for you.

Revelation 4:8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Kurios Theos Pantokrator, Who was and is and is to come!” 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 “You are worthy, O Kurios, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created everything, and by Your will they exist and were created.”

Revelation 5:11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Arnion who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Arnion, forever and ever!” 14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

This Yeshuwa will return one day and every eye will see Him and every tongue will proclaim Him BASILEUS of BASILEUS and KURIOS of KURIOS.

Revelation 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Logos of Theos. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Pantokrator Theos. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: BASILEUS OF BASILEUS AND KURIOS OF KURIOS.

Do you stand in awe of Him? Do you study to receive instruction from Him in wisdom and truth? Do you humble yourself before Him as He humbled Himself before you? Are you willing to lay down your life for the gospel as He did for you on the cross for your salvation?

Let’s pray: Father, I come before You in awe of who You are and what You did for me. Give me a humble spirit to worship You and give You praise for everything You did for me. You did not need to send Your Son to Earth to redeem me, but You did because You loved me. I bow before You, humble and trembling at the mercy and grace You gave me when You forgave me from the cross. Do not let me think I am anyone, when You did so much for me. You deserve the praise. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
