Day 59 – Righteousness

Proverbs 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness, than vast revenues without justice.

  • God’s names:
  • Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • Iesous – Jesus
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • God’s character:
  • Righteous
  • Just

People with little means seem happier than people with vast wealth. When a person has a modest income, they don’t have the insecurities that comes with wealth. People with wealth believe they can buy their way out of trouble, while people with little means don’t have the trouble wealth brings. People with a modest income are also more generous than those with wealth. People with wealth give out of their wealth, while people with little means give even when its difficult to do so.

Solomon had vast wealth. He saw what wealth did to people, how people with wealth thought they were above the law, in this case JEHOVAH’S Law. Wealth didn’t give a person good standing with JEHOVAH, only a life lived in obedience to JEHOVAH’S Law brought a life of blessing from Elohiym.

Yeshuwa compared a poor person with wealthy people.

Mark 12:41 Now Iesous sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. 43 Then He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in everything she had, her whole livelihood.”

When you live in obedience to Yeshuwa, it won’t matter how much or how little you have, you will find His blessing on your life because He will supply everything you need.

James also spoke about people of wealth.

James 2:1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Kurios Iesous Christos, the Kurios of glory, with partiality. 2 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, 3 and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” 4 have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has Theos not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? 7 Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?

As Christians, you need to live in obedience to Yeshuwa’s Word. You have more in Yeshuwa because of your faith, than those whose wealth is their Elohiym. Stop looking at how much a person has and count the blessings you have in Yeshuwa. Your faith and trust shine like righteousness before Yeshuwa than all the wealth a person has without Him.

Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word shine in my life and show me how rich I am because I am Your child. Let Your light shine like a beacon of love to everyone who sees me, not because of my income, but because of my faith. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
