Day 60 – Journey
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, but JEHOVAH directs his steps.
- God’s names:
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- Adonay – God’s proper name
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- KURIOS – Supreme Authority
- God’s character:
- Direction
Some people plan everything they do from the moment they wake up in the morning until they go to bed at night. Others plan as they go with only an idea of what they want to accomplish during the day. They’re flexible.
Solomon wasn’t opposed to plans. It was an important part of his life as the king of Israel. However, he included JEHOVAH in his plans. Solomon learned to let JEHOVAH direct his steps from his father David’s example.
Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by JEHOVAH, and He delights in his way.
Solomon wasn’t the only one to benefit from his father David, who trusted his life to JEHOVAH. As Christians, you should benefit from the examples found in Scripture about people who allowed JEHOVAH to lead them through life.
When you place your life in Yeshuwa’s hands and allow Him to direct your life, He will guide you through your journey. Then you will hear Him when He shows you the way.
Isaiah 30:19 For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you will weep no more. He will be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. 20 And though Adonay gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes will see your teachers. 21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.
Adonay directs your life when you place it in His hands. He will walk beside you throughout your journey. He will show you His wonders and you will delight in Him.
Moses told Joshua JEHOVAH would never leave him or forsake him on the journey to the Promised Land.
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for JEHOVAH your Elohiym, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” 7 Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which JEHOVAH has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you will cause them to inherit it. 8 And JEHOVAH, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
The writer of Hebrews tells you the same thing.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “KURIOS is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Let Yeshuwa guide you. Trust Him to lead you on the path He planned for your life. It’s good to plan; it’s better to plan with Yeshuwa to lead you on the journey. Don’t leave Yeshuwa out of your plans. When you do, your plans will become fruitless.
Let’s pray: Father, lead me on the path You have for me. Remind me that You are my guide through life when I want to rush ahead and leave You behind. Show me Your wonders and let me rejoice in the journey You have for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
