Day 66 – Path

Proverbs 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; he who keeps his way preserves his soul.

  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • El – Strength, Mighty, Almighty God
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord
  • God’s character:
  • Righteous
  • Protector
  • Merciful
  • Good

Most people do their best to live good productive lives. They take care of their families, show friendship to others, and help wherever there’s a need.

Solomon saw good in people especially those who lived their lives according to YAHWEH’S laws. They lived righteous lives and protected their souls from evil.

In Yeshuwa’s Sermon on the Mount, He told the people what the kingdom of Theos was like. He told them how they could receive blessings, what Theos looked for in His people, and He told them about the wide and narrow path that leads either to destruction or life.

Life is a highway — a journey — not from place to place, but from the place where sin resides to the place where love abides.

When you started your journey in life, you were on the highway that led to destruction and hell. When you turned your life over to Yeshuwa, you changed direction. Your journey took a new course onto a narrower path, marked with rocks that sometimes felt like boulders. The world tries to intrude on your path with roads leading away from the path with promises of a good life. When you strayed onto that path, you needed to find your way back to the narrow path.

The rocks and boulders on your path mark the hardships you face on your journey. When you place your hope in Yeshuwa and allow Him to guide you on your journey, He will turn those boulders into smaller rocks, and the rocks into pebbles, so that eventually you will not notice them. The road will seem smoother because you found your footing in Yeshuwa and not in the world.

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (NKJV)

When you open Yeshuwa’s Word to read and study it, you enter the narrow gate that leads to life. It’s not an easy road to follow, but it is a rewarding road that leads to eternal life.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You do not travel the narrow path alone. Yeshuwa goes with you.

Psalm 23:1 (A Psalm of David.) YAHWEH is my shepherd; I will not want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6 Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me every day of my life; and I will dwell in the house of YAHWEH forever.

Yeshuwa’s path leads to life. Solomon knew that. He learned it from his father. He knew what it meant to stray from the path and the joy it brought him when he found the path again. He knew YAHWEH’S promise to never leave or forsake him.

Deuteronomy 4:30 “When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to YAHWEH your Elohiym and obey His voice 31 ‘(for YAHWEH your Elohiym is a merciful El), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

Deuteronomy 31:8 “And YAHWEH, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (NKJV)

Yours is the narrow path leading to eternal life if you made Yeshuwa your Soter and Kurios. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will guide you every step of the way until you reach your destination. Then He will usher you through the gate into eternal life.

Let’s pray: Father, keep my feet on the narrow path. Don’t let Satan lead me astray to those things that look good, but which are in fact lies and tricks that lead me away from You. Let Your Word sink deep into my heart and rise in me when Satan wants to destroy my life. Your Word is a light to my path. Be my guide through this life so that I will enter through the gate into eternal life when this life is over. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
