Day 69 – Living Water
Proverbs 16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. However, the correction of fools is folly.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- God’s character:
- Understanding
- Just
How do you feel when you have that ah ha moment in life? Doesn’t it give you a clearer understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish? It makes everything you’ve been working on worth that moment. However, when you try to give the same instructions to someone who doesn’t want to listen, you’re wasting your time.
Solomon met many people daily as the king of Israel. He saw those who wanted to learn and those who through stubbornness and pride refused to change their ways and gain understanding. He said it was folly to try to instruct those who didn’t want to learn.
How many Christians are set in their ways? They spend their entire lives living one way, with one set of rules for how they are to approach Yeshuwa and won’t listen to any other way. Then there are those Christians who want to learn everything they can, they are open to what Yeshuwa wants to teach them about Himself. They have the wellspring of life springing up from their soul. They drink refreshing water of understanding every day.
Yeshuwa said He was the source of living water.
John 4:4 But He needed to go through Samaria. 5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Iesous, therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Iesous said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Iesous answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of Theos, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?” 13 Iesous answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst. But the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Which well do you drink from? Is it the well of living water springing up from your soul every time you open Yeshuwa’s Word, or is it the rituals and practices you learned from childhood that keep your understanding dim and unaltered?
YAHWEH’S Word is a wellspring of life. With it you gain understanding every time you open it and read it. Every day you learn something new if you open your understanding to receive what He wants to teach you. Yeshuwa’s Word is life giving water to your soul. You need to nourish your soul daily so that the living water will rise in you and give you understanding for life.
Drink from the well of living water today and receive instruction for life that refreshes your soul.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word rise in me and bubble over as living water that refreshes my soul. Give me Your understanding so that I glean new information from Your Word daily. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
