Day 70 – God’s Word

Proverbs 16:23 The heart of the wise teaches his mouth and adds learning to his lips. 24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

  • God’s names:
  • JEHOVAH/YAHWEH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • Adonay – God’s proper name
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • God’s character:
  • Wise
  • Teacher
  • Understanding

Who were your favorite teachers in school? Who were your favorite employers? Who among the many celebrities who talk to people do you like listening to? Aren’t they the ones who KNOW what they’re talking about and not just saying things to impress people? Their words cause you to dive into the research they presented. Their words tasted sweet to your soul and made you feel healthy by what you learned. They helped to increase your knowledge of the subject.

Solomon was a wise king. His wisdom came from JEHOVAH who asked him what he wanted to rule His people. Solomon asked for wisdom and understanding. The wisdom YAHWEH gave him gave him an understanding of the Law, an understanding of how to deal with people, an understanding in building the temple, and in planting vineyards and being a landowner and employer. With the wisdom YAHWEH gave him, Solomon recognized it in the people he saw daily and added to his understanding. Their words tasted like a honeycomb and brought health to his bones.

1 Kings 3:4 Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5 At Gibeon YAHWEH appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and Elohiym said, “Ask! What will I give you?” 6 And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. 7 “Now, O YAYWEH my Elohiym, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore, give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who can judge this great people of Yours?” 10 The speech pleased Adonay, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then Elohiym said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor will any like you arise after you.

When you hear people with the discernment that only comes from Elohiym, your spirit rejoices because it ate sweet words that went down into the soul.

When you said yes to Yeshuwa to become His child, it was because you heard something that resonated deep in your soul and tasted sweet to your ears. You heard how much Elohiym loved you to send His Son to be your Soter and Kurios. In that moment Yeshuwa became everything you needed in this life. When you open His Word, you add learning and understanding to your knowledge of who Yeshuwa is. His words taste like honey from a honeycomb, sweet to your spirit. His Word becomes alive, leaping off the page and into your understanding. The more you read, the more you want to read. You want to know who Yeshuwa is and want the relationship He promises you as you study His Word.

2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Yeshuwa’s Word becomes alive when you read and study it. It brings health to your bones and tastes as sweet as a honeycomb.

Open Yeshuwa’s Word today and taste and see that the Kurios is good, as David says in the Psalms.

Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that JEHOVAH is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word always refresh my soul. Let it be sweet to my taste and add understanding to my heart. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
