Day 71 – Life

Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Adonay – God’s proper name
  • Elohiym – Supreme God
  • Iesous/Yeshuwa – Jesus
  • Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • God’s character:
  • Life

People think they know what’s best for their lives. They pursue it without regard to what others say, especially when they rush down paths they shouldn’t and find only harm from their pursuits.

Solomon knew that they only way to live life was in step with YAHWEH, not without Him. Only by following Adonay’s laws could a person truly enjoy the life Elohiym promised him. He saw people who didn’t honor Elohiym, and he saw those who did. Those who didn’t faced a life of hardship while those who did faced a life of blessing and abundance.

Before you became a Christian, you faced a life headed for destruction. Sometimes it was your own making, thinking you could live life on your terms and be successful. It was only in full surrender to Iesous Christos that you realized you couldn’t live life on your terms. Some Christians still believe they can live the Christian life on their terms. It doesn’t work that way. Christos must be the center of your life and Kurios of everything you do.

When you realize you need Yeshuwa and what He can give you and start following His ways, making Him the center of your life, then you will come in alignment with what He wants for your life. Everything else leads only to destruction.

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (NKJV)

Life has two paths; one is narrow and the other is wide. One follows your pursuits and pleasures. The other follows what Yeshuwa wants for your life. One leads to destruction, the other to life.

Which path are you following? Are you following the path of selfish pleasures or the path that is aligned with Yeshuwa and what He wants for you?

Let’s pray: Father, help me to look for only what You want for me in this life. When I stray into selfish desires, lead me back to the path that aligns with You and what You want for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
