Day 78 – Inheritance
Proverbs 17:2 A wise servant will rule over a son who causes shame and will share an inheritance among the brothers.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- Soter – Savior
- Kurios – Supreme Authority
- Huios – Son
- God’s character:
- Wise
- Provider
How many children bring shame to their parents and then claim their siblings are better appreciated? How many parents disown their children and give their inheritance to someone outside the family — someone who showed more wisdom than their children?
Solomon had many children. He also had many wise servants he relied on for the care of his household. He saw how wise servants ruled over his children, especially those children who brought shame to the family. Solomon also knew YAHWEH chose him to lead Israel, not his brothers older than him. He deferred to the wisdom YAHWEH gave him to lead Israel.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, He grafted you into His inheritance and gave you the same inheritance YAHWEH gave His chosen people. He also disinherited those who rejected Him.
Romans 11:16 For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if Theos did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore, consider the goodness and severity of Theos: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for Theos is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
You have an inheritance in Yeshuwa because you accepted Him, not because you are better than His chosen people.
Galatians 4:1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, 2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, Theos sent forth His Huios, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
You are Yeshuwa’s servant. You are also His child. You have the same inheritance as His chosen people.
Let’s pray: Father, help me see my inheritance in You, not as my right, but as a privilege because I accepted Your Son as my Savior. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
