One thing that is easy to see in the world today is how much evil there is. It’s in every neighborhood, every family, every government, every country, every thought. Wherever you find evil, you find liars and people who willingly spread those lies.
Genesis 6:5 Then YAHWEH saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Solomon got advice from his father, David, about keeping himself pure before YAHWEH.
1 Chronicles 28:9 “As for you, my son Solomon, know the Elohiym of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for YAHWEH searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
Solomon knew how evil the hearts of men were. He saw it every day in his courts, in his home, and in his family. He knew where wicked thoughts would lead a person.
Psalm 10:1 Why do You stand afar off, O YAHWEH? Why do You hide in times of trouble? 2 The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. 3 For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; he blesses the greedy and renounces YAHWEH. 4 The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek Elohiym; Elohiym is in none of his thoughts. 5 His ways are always prospering; Your judgments are far above, out of his sight; as for his enemies, he sneers at them. 6 He has said in his heart, “I will not be moved; I will never be in adversity.” 7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is trouble and iniquity. 8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless. 9 He lies in wait secretly, like a lion in his den; He lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor when he draws him into his net. 10 So he crouches, he lies low, that the helpless may fall by his strength. 11 He has said in his heart, “El has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.” 12 Arise, O YAHWEH! O El, lift Your hand! Do not forget the humble. 13 Why do the wicked renounce Elohiym? He has said in his heart, “You will not require an account.”
14 But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, to repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless. 15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man; seek out his wickedness until You find none. 16 YAHWEH is Melek forever and ever; the nations have perished out of His land. 17 YAHWEH, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, 18 to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more.
How do you combat evil in the world when it is everywhere? As Christians, you have only one way — prayer. Prayer defeats the wicked thoughts and intents of the heart. It stops the destroyers’ hands. Satan can do nothing when Yeshuwa’s children pray. He is helpless.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (NKJV)
Christians must pray. It’s the only way you will stop Satan from spreading evil in the earth.
Consider what Elohiym’s thoughts are toward you.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says YAHWEH, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Your only hope is in prayer. When you focus on Yeshuwa’s thoughts for you, you will pray. You will seek His face. When you do, Satan cannot bring the evil he intends against you.
I have a little plaque on my desk. It says: Have you prayed about it? I ask you — Have you prayed about it? Don’t let Satan destroy your life or the lives of your loved ones and friends. Pray. Seek His face, and watch Yeshuwa change your situation into praise and glory.
Let’s pray: Father, when I see evil in this world, in my neighborhood, in my family, remind me to pray and seek your face. Let me see wickedness end in my life and in the lives of my loved ones and friends. Give me hope as I see Your hand in my life when I pray. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
