The short answer to both is yes.

My first stage appearance took place when I was five years old. It was a barnyard skit in Kindergarten. I played the part of a pig. My second was in the senior class play. I had the smallest part in the play, but I enjoyed it just the same.

I took speech class in high school. It was difficult to speak in front of people, and still is. However, it prepared me for college when I became Student Senate president and spoke at every meeting. Since then, I have given many speeches in front of congregations, and clubs. My fear of standing before people never lessened, but once I opened my mouth, the words flowed, even though my hands shook.
