In the seven decades of my life, my interests and hobbies changed and remained the same. I can’t say the hobbies of my childhood no longer hold interest for me. They only changed.
As a child, I loved playing with paperdolls. Now, I collect them. I loved to read, I still read. I have six bookcases of books and buy more all the time. I played with dolls. I no longer have dolls, but I have stuffed animals.

As a child, I loved to color. I still do. I have many adult coloring books. I wasn’t a good artist, but I loved to try to paint and draw. Today, I paint rocks. What I couldn’t do as a child, I found I could as an adult.

My hobbies haven’t change, only my ability to do them. I loved to ice skate as a child. Now, I watch the Olympic ice skaters. I loved to build snowmen. My last snowman broke my back, literally. I broke the L1 L2 vertebrae and couldn’t walk until they stabilized my back. The doctor, chiropractor, and therapists all told me never to build another snowman.

This is the snowman that broke my back.
My hobbies haven’t changed. Only how I enjoy them has.
