Daily writing prompt
What activities do you lose yourself in?

I easily lose myself in my writing. If not for the need to get my walking goals for the day, I would sit here without moving as my characters talk to me and tell me what’s going on with the story.

I love painting rocks. It was one morning several years ago when I called my friend because I was stuck with my words. If you’re a writer you know exactly what I mean. I asked her what she was doing and she told me to get over to the ADRC (Aging Disability, Resource Center) the Senior Center. So, I did and then began a love of rock painting. I had my doubts about painting anything, but the more I work at it, the better I get with it. I don’t even notice the time until it’s time to pack it all up and head home.

I love spending time in God’s Word. It cleanses my soul, gives me a sense of complete well-being, encourages me, and grounds me in my faith. I go to church on Sunday, and attend two other Bible studies. One is every week where we are discussing the book The Awe of God, and the other one meets on the third floor here twice a month. I can’t get enough of learning what God has for me today.

Walking is another activity I love. When I can and the weather is nice, there is a trail close to the apartment complex I live in. I love seeing how God transforms the trail through the seasons.

Those are my activities. What activities do you get lost in? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading.

Nice post Valerie. I also get lost in my writing. Hours can slip away while I sit with my “people!” I love my daily Bible readings and reading books, doing puzzles baking. So much out there to enjoy! And your rock is so cute 🙂
