Daily writing prompt
What are your favorite brands and why?

Most of my life is generic. From the time I was little, living at home, to the present day, most of what I ate, bought, or used wasn’t bought with gold the name brands seemed to demand. Cost efficient was and still is the name of the game.

However, there are five brands that come to mind:

  1. Kleenex brand. I won’t buy generic tissues, but I also don’t buy the most expensive.
  2. Scott brand. I like things that last as long as possible and Scott 1000 toilet paper is the way to go. Though I have also used the generic 1000.
  3. Sparkle paper towels. Another cost efficient brand.
  4. Cascade. I’ve tried the others and they didn’t work as well.
  5. Era. I refuse to use Tide. I did that once before everything went to liquid and I had caked powder on my clothes and bed sheets. Never again. Era was the first to come out in liquid and I’ve used it since it came out. Not changing.

There you have it. My list of brands. As for food and clothes, I don’t need name brands and food is fresh, not loaded with salt.

What name brands do you use? Thanks for reading. The image, well you know, it’s me.

I use generic products too, Valerie. I shop at Save A Lot and they have very few name brands there but the savings on groceries is worth it to me. I like Walgreens brand lotions, body washes and tp. The only name brands I really indulge in are my coffees. I love my Dunkin and McCafe coffee pods 🙂

I walked into Save A Lot once to check it out and see if it was worth it. Not here. I saved a lot of money because there wasn’t anything in there worth buying.

I buy a lot of store brands. They’re the same as the labels only more cost efficient.

When it comes to what I drink – it’s Stash tea. I forgot that one. I love Stash because they have more flavors than any other tea brand. I don’t drink coffee.

However, when it comes to body wash and shampoos, I have sensitivity to soaps and I can only use one brand, the cheapest brand – Suave.

      Thanks for reading my post.
