Day 116 – Trust
Psalm 17:1 (A Prayer of David.) Hear a just cause, O JEHOVAH, attend to my cry; give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips. 2 Let my vindication come from Your presence; let Your eyes look on the things that are upright. 3 You tested my heart; You visited me in the night; You tried me and found nothing; I purposed that my mouth would not transgress. 4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips, I kept away from the paths of the destroyer. 5 Uphold my steps in Your paths, so that my footsteps may not slip. 6 I called upon You, for You will hear me, O Elohiym; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. 7 Show Your marvelous lovingkindness with Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings, 9 from the wicked who oppress me, from my deadly enemies who surround me. 10 They closed their fat hearts; with their mouths they speak proudly. 11 They surrounded us in our steps; they set their eyes, crouching down to the earth, 12 as a lion is eager to tear his prey, and like a young lion lurking in secret places. 13 Arise, O JEHOVAH, confront him, cast him down; deliver my life from the wicked with Your sword, 14 with Your hand from men, O JEHOVAH, from men of the world who have their portion in this life, and whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure. They are satisfied with children and leave the rest of their possessions for their babies. 15 As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

People of every religion pray for help to come against their enemies. They make promises in their prayers to their elohiym and make requests for their safety.
In this David is no different from those who pray to their elohiym, except that JEHOVAH, the only Elohiym, will hear him, protect him, deliver him, and provide for him. David asked for Elohiym to vindicate him before his enemies. He gave several reasons why Elohiym should listen to him.
- His prayer wasn’t from deceitful lips
- He purposed not to say anything to transgress against Elohiym
- He kept his feet on Elohiym’s path and not on the path of the destroyer
- He trusted JEHOVAH
David asked JEHOVAH to hide him because he was the apple of Elohiym’s eyes and deliver him from his enemies.
As children of Yeshuwa, do you feel like you are the apple of His eyes? Do you expect Him to answer your prayers when Satan comes against you? Or do you pray half-hearted prayers because you don’t believe Yeshuwa will hear or answer you because He is too busy helping someone else?
Mark 11:21 Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”
22 Then Iesous answered and said to them, “Have faith in Theos. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
David believed Elohiym would deliver him from his enemies because he trusted Him.
Many Christians say they trust Yeshuwa, but their lack of faith belies their words.
When people work with their hands to sew, or construct something, if the thread or whatever they are doing becomes hard to work, they work it until they can grasp it. Then when they have hold of it, they can finish what they started.
When you pray, take hold of the sliver of faith you have and trust Yeshuwa to take hold of your faith and complete His work in you. He will answer every prayer you pray. You only need to believe and trust Him.
David knew JEHOVAH would answer him. He had complete faith and trust in Him.
Do you have complete faith and trust in Yeshuwa? Give Him your sliver of faith and watch Him work in your life.
Let’s pray: Father, give me a heart like David’s heart who trusted You and knew You would answer his prayers. Increase my faith as I trust You to come against Satan and deliver me from his schemes against my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
