I mentioned a couple days ago that I had two medical appointments. One for a mammogram and the other for bone density.

I got the test results for the mammogram on Monday and the bone density yesterday. My mammogram was good. No problems. However, that is not the case for the bone density. I have known for many years that I have osteoporosis. The letter from the doctor suggested more medication and physical therapy. One of the medications suggested I eliminated because I was on it for three years and it didn’t work. The others involve a transfusion and injection. I’m not fond of needles, but it looks like I have no choice in the matter. Then there’s physical therapy. I don’t know what that will do. I walk every day getting anywhere from 6000-12,000 steps depending on my activities for the day and how much walking I can do when I go to the trail. I’m also hoping to get back into the pool soon.

Today I have another medical appointment. This one with my gastroenterologist. I need to schedule a colonoscopy. Not fond of those, or I should say not fond of the prep for those. I don’t expect any surprises for that one. So far, they’ve all been good, no polyps. I expect the same this time too. I only wish I didn’t need them anymore. However, I have ulcerative colitis so I can’t get away from them, though I will ask about it today. Maybe my age will say no more. We’ll see.

Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

Maybe it’s too much to hope for at my age. Thank you.

My goodness, Valerie! You’ve really got yourself in a run of medical doings. I hope you react well to the osteoporosis treatment (the needles notwithstanding–eek!). Colonoscopy prep is definitely no fun, but I hope it’s nothing more than a minor inconvenience!

Thank you. I hope so too as my body doesn’t do well with medication. It throws it off like it was a placebo. Finding one that my body will accept takes time. So I hope it takes to the new treatment.

Just got home from the gastro. They’ll call me with the date. So not looking forward to it. At least the doctor agreed with the pills instead of the liquid.

My wife is that way with medicine. I hope you’re spared a drawn out process! Thank goodness you at least get to avoid the liquid prep!

      Thank you. I’m glad too.
It makes finding medicine that works hard.
I see the doctor next week to talk about possible options for the osteoporosis.

Truly, you are the best judge for your bodily ailment-related medication than a doctor, and what suits your body without giving any type of overdose or any kind of adverse effects, you can tell the doctor about it.
