Good evening from warm Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It’s 83 F, sunny or maybe partly sunny at 4:57 PM. There’s a slight breeze as the trees shudder a bit.

It’s been a day. I won’t say good. It didn’t start out that way. I normally wake with a good disposition and a smile on my face ready to start the day. Not today. Today, I woke angry enough to spit nails. No, no nightmare caused my disposition. I’m not as angry as I was, which is a good thing. Let’s just say, I don’t have a car and someone forgot to tell me they weren’t picking me up for church yesterday.

I’m thankful for my friend down the hall. I can talk to her when I need to get my smile back. I have it back. I’m doing much better than I did this morning.

I’m thankful for the walk on the trail this morning. I woke at 3:30, so as soon as I had the Bible study done and posted, I hit the trail at 6:05 and got back to my apartment by 7:05. It was a nice hour and over 7K steps and 57 heart points. I pushed myself. I was also happy there wasn’t another person on the trail until almost the end of the first section I walked. He was the only one I saw, for which I was grateful, and yes, thankful. I needed the time alone this morning.

I’m thankful for the time I was here and the posts I read from those of you who crossed my path today. You’re all such great writers, you put me to shame.

I’m thankful for the work I did on Firestorm. I got a lot done today, some of it with the help of AI. I needed to jump start my brain and the two paragraphs it gave me were helpful.

Okay, that’s my day. I still haven’t written a poem for tomorrow’s Writer’s Guild. I’m not a poet. I write poetry, but I’m a novelist. I can’t just write a poem at will. I’ve had two weeks and my brain still isn’t forthcoming for a poem for tomorrow night’s assignment. Well so be it. It’s not mandatory.

What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

Haha, people don’t know how hard poems are to write until they try it themselves, right? 😂
