The plan was to leave at 7:30 this morning, get to DMV before 8. DMV opens at 8:30. We almost stuck to the plan. We left at 7:50 and got there shortly after 8 and waited about 25 minutes. However:

I got to the window in good time, and then to the counter. It was at the counter I encountered more problems. I thought I followed all the directions. However one of the documents I brought with me was unacceptable. I needed my Spectrum bill to show activity. It didn’t. So, we left.

As we got in the car we realized Spectrum was just down the street. We found it didn’t open until 10. It was 9:05. We went to IHOP for breakfast, then back to Spectrum, got a copy of my bill and went back to DMV.

When I got to the head of the long line, the man at the desk recognized me, asked me what counter I had been to earlier and told me to go there and I would be next.

This time all the documents were accepted. Before I left at 9 AM, she told me it would be a further $14 fee to get the star on the license. Because I came back right away, I didn’t need to get my picture retaken and she waived the additional fee. Praise GOD! I will have my new license in time for my birthday next week. 🎉

Third time’s a charm. It felt like we wasted an entire morning.

My neighbor also needed to go back to Costco to exchange the shorts she bought yesterday which were too big for her. We were finally on our way home at 12:20 PM.

As I look at the time on the computer, I wonder where the day went as it’s 4:17 PM and I’m just getting to the notifications on here and I haven’t worked on Firestorm yet today. I still plan to do that. In everything though, I do have my steps and heart points for the day.
