Some people would say, “That’s debatable.”

I woke up this morning to find we’re in a heat advisory. My thoughts were I would walk the hallways instead of the trail. Hallways can be just as bad if not worse than walking outside. Stale air, no cross air flow, stuffiness, almost claustrophobic in the halls. So, I checked the temperature. 80 F with a heat index of 85 F. I put on my shoes and went for a walk.

I saw three people on the trail. So, I ask myself, am I crazy to be out here in this heat? I’m not a summer person. I prefer cooler weather, snow, and a pleasant day for walking the trails. I had peace. Only three people besides me on the trail. It was pleasant. There is a nice breeze out there taking the brunt of the heat. Two out of three isn’t bad.

I thought I would only walk one section of trail. However, the wooded section loomed. It’s wooded, shady, cooler. I walked that section too. I have all my steps and 45 heart points. I stopped at my friend’s apartment for a cool glass of water and to relax before heading down the hall and around the corner to my apartment. She told me I looked hot, I was red in the face.

Shortly after I got home my neighbor brought over ice cream and a short while later the root beer. Root beer floats hit the spot perfectly. I have the A/C on, and I have no plans to go out in the heat. It’s already 90 F and feels like 96 F. I went out at a good time. The high for today is 91 F. I’m guessing it will go higher. It feels like 96 F. Time to stay in and enjoy my time on the computer.

What is the weather like where you live? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I told my neighbor we missed root beer float day. She brought the makings over yesterday and we enjoyed. 😁
