Day 202 – Benefits

Psalm 103:1 (A Psalm of David.) Bless JEHOVAH, O my soul; and everything within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless JEHOVAH, O my soul, and forget not His benefits: 3 Who forgives your iniquities, who heals your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 JEHOVAH executes righteousness and justice for everyone who is oppressed. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. 8 JEHOVAH is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. 9 He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father pities his children, so JEHOVAH pities those who fear Him. 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. 17 However, the mercy of JEHOVAH is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, 18 to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.

19 JEHOVAH established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over everyone. 20 Bless JEHOVAH, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. 21 Bless JEHOVAH, you His hosts, you ministers of His, who do His pleasure. 22 Bless JEHOVAH, every one of His works, in every place of His dominion. Bless JEHOVAH, O my soul!

Do you know your benefits? When people look for employment, they want to know the benefits they will receive during their employment. Governments also provide benefits for their citizens. In sports, players know the benefits not only as players, but for their bodies as well. Everything you do has benefits both physically and beneficially.

David told the people the blessings of their benefits as children of JEHOVAH.

JEHOVAH:

  1. Forgave them
  2. Healed them
  3. Redeemed them
  4. Crowned them with lovingkindness and tender mercy
  5. Provided for them
  6. Renewed their lives as the eagles
  7. Executes righteousness and justice to the oppressed

David went on to explain how JEHOVAH forgave them. He cast their sins from them as far as the east is from the west. He remembered them no more. JEHOVAH remembered His people and that He made them from dust. Their lives were short like grass or the flowers of the field, therefore, He didn’t punish them as they deserved but forgave them.

As children of Yeshuwa, you have the same benefits as the children of Israel. Many Christians don’t live in their benefits, believing they need to do something to receive them. They don’t realize Yeshuwa paid for their benefits on the cross. When they accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, they received every benefit JEHOVAH provided for His children.

You are forgiven, healed, redeemed, and restored. Yeshuwa provides everything you need for this life and guarantees you eternal life with Him in heaven. You only need to accept what He did for you and walk in your new life in Him.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for redeeming my life from destruction and eternal separation from You. Help me live in my salvation with every benefit You provided for Your people. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
