Daily writing prompt
What is a word you feel that too many people use?

Love.

Is it used too often. I think so. We say we love this that and everything else. We sign our notes, cards, and letters with Love. However, do we really mean it?

When you tell someone you barely know you love them, what does it mean? Granted, we love our family members, good friends, and relatives, but even there saying I love you to an aunt or uncle you never met, don’t know, and will probably never meet again this side of eternity, probably doesn’t mean anything except the use of the word.

Jesus said we are to love everyone. How do you do that?

There are three types of love found in the Bible. Agape – the kind Jesus has for everyone – unconditional, and the kind we’re supposed to have with each other. Philia – Friendship love. This is the most common. It’s most likely the one you mean when you sign your letters and cards. Then there is Eros. Lustful love. It’s momentary and means nothing.

We use love interchangeably across everything we do with people. We even use the word love with things we do. We love music. We love movies. We love art. You get the idea. You even love the things you collect.

Love is the most used and abused word. Everybody uses it and often it doesn’t mean anything to the person who said it or the person receiving it.

What is the word you find most used in your life? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

This is completely, unfortunately, very true. Good choice and point!
