Map of the area where I live. Taken on the Riverfront Trail
Green Bay is a nice-sized community. Not too big, not to small. Located on the Bay of Green Bay that flows into Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes.
I like the small town atmosphere. Green Bay has a population just over 100,000 people. People are friendly. There is a lot to do here for a small city. Green Bay started out as a fur-trading outpost in the 1800s and grew to the third largest city in Wisconsin.
I like living here because it has four seasons, winter being the one I love most. Wisconsin is one of the prettiest states in the United States. I know there are 49 other beautiful states in this country. We don’t have mountains, but we have rolling hills that lend itself to the beauty found here. Wisconsin has national parks and forests ideal for fishing, camping, and every kind of outdoor activity you can imagine.
Green Bay has a museum, Bay Beach Amusement Park, Train museum, Heritage Hill state park, and Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers NFL football team. You might have noticed in a recent post that I’m an avid Packers fan.
I also like Green Bay, and Wisconsin because we don’t get tornadoes often, we get them. We had a couple just a couple of weeks ago. But they are few and far between. The most turbulent weather we get are blizzards in winter. Yes, I love a good blizzard that paints the landscape white. It’s been a couple of years since we had a good blizzard. Climate change is responsible for our lack of good winter weather. Still, it’s a good place to live.
Friendly people, things to do, and the four seasons. It can’t get better than that.
