Good evening from cool, breezy Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It’s 61 F and cloudy. It’s the warmest day of the past three days.

I have so much to be thankful for. I’m totally blessed! I promised you a full report when I got home.

My friend picked me up at 12:20 on Thursday. We drove 1:17 minutes to Spenser Lake Christian Center.

That’s me in my new hat. It was cold and windy. I found the hat in the camp store. I also have a new blanket for my bed.

We had great teaching from a pastor from Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The theme for the retreat was Press On. All about pressing into Jesus Christ. He was the keynote speaker for Thursday night, Friday, and today. There were also breakout sessions. I attended one called Gods, Demons, and UFOs. Truly interesting. The second one I attended this morning was called Unfinished Business or Four Truths and a Lie. Don’t buy into the lie that just because you’re over 50 your work is finished. It’s not. God’s not done with us yet.

There was also a Talent show.

This guitarist took familiar tunes and put age related words to it people over 50 could relate too. It was hilarious!

This young man isn’t 50 yet, but he was one of the people helping out for the event. The man to call when you needed anything. He could play the saxophone and held the final not longer than I have breath and then some. He was a true blessing to all those of us over 50.

This was sunrise devotions. I know I’ve mentioned how early I get up. Sunrise devotions was at 7 AM. He taught Hebrew and Greek. Friday was Hebrew and this morning was Greek. This is from this morning.

There were events we could sign up for, however, due to the extremely cold and windy weather, pontoon rides were canceled as was the bonfire sing along. Though last night’s bonfire sing along was inside around a fireplace.

Before today’s final service the people who signed up for the choir, no I wasn’t in the choir, gave their performance.

Throughout the retreat there were snack tables after every session. No, I didn’t take pictures of the snack tables, three long rows of snacks to enjoy. Then there was the cafeteria. I had mostly salad bar because they like chicken and I’m allergic to it.

After three days it was time to pack up, get addresses and phone numbers from new friends and leave it all behind for another year.

My wonderful friend who brought me to the 50+ Retreat. Yes, I plan to attend next year. If you go just once, you’re addicted. Nothing compares to three days of praise, worship, with a wonderful worship team.

The worship team was wonderful.

As you can see, it was a wonderful event, and a cold one. Our warmest day was today when I finally took off my hoodie, but not my new hat. I might even wear it to church tomorrow. We’ll see.

What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The images belong to me.
