Good evening from cold Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It’s delightfully cold at 26 F. I still have snow on the ground. 👍

Today was a blessing from heaven itself. I am so blessed and thankful.

Thanksgiving isn’t the only day of the year we should be thankful. We should be thankful everyday. Thanksgiving is about family and the joy of being together.

I’m thankful today went as well as it did. I started off with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. My neighbor made the turkey and dressing, so I didn’t need to do anything for the dinner until after the parade and during the football game. I made sweet potato pie, garlic and sour cream mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and fruit salad. I forgot to put the fruit salad on the table. I remembered it when my neighbor and I were divvying up the leftovers. My neighbor also made the pumpkin pie, which turned out pretty good considering she forgot the sugar.

I’m thankful for my son and his girlfriend who came for dinner. They arrived about a half hour after the game got over. We enjoyed a good meal together and good conversation.

I’m thankful for a good Packers/Lions game. The Pack won 31-24.

I’m thankful for the work I did on Firestorm before the parade this morning. I didn’t get a lot more word count, only a few words. The book is coming along well.

I’m thankful I have the dishes in the dishwasher for the second time today and everything is cleaned up.

Today was a wonderful day to remember why I’m thankful. Not only for the things I listed above, but for the many blessings God provided for me today. The Bible says it’s a daily occurrence with God. He never fails to bless us.

Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah (NKJV)

When we live in a state of gratefulness for everything God gives us, it will be easy to see beyond the obvious blessings into the realm of how He sustains our lives, the breath in our bodies, keeping us safe when we don’t realize the enemy’s threats against us, and the many other blessings we don’t notice or pay attention to.

It’s because of God’s faithfulness that I am thankful for His many blessings to me each day.

What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments below. Happy Thanksgiving. The image belongs to me.
