Day 327 – Peace

Proverbs 11:29 He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

KURIOS, Kurios – Supreme Authority

Theos – Supreme Divinity

God’s character:

Wisdom

Many people come from dysfunctional homes. They know nothing but trouble. They want to know peace. Their inheritance is more trouble.

Solomon knew trouble. He lived in a dysfunctional home. His father was an adulterer, and he was the son of adultery. His brother Absalom killed his brother Amnon, and Absalom wanted to take over the kingdom from his father and died because of it. Therefore, he knew what his inheritance was – wind. He also saw that fools were servants to the wise.

Christians are supposed to be wise, but many Christians are foolish because they know nothing else. What does it take to break the cycle of dysfunction in the body of Christos?

Christians attend seminars, buy books, and will do what they can to break the cycle and live a life of peace with wisdom grounding them. It takes intentional determination to break the cycle of dysfunction in your life. It isn’t easy. Satan is right there to taunt you and tell you that you will never break free.

Does it mean you’re a bad Christian? No. Solomon wasn’t a bad king. Neither was his father, David. Because of dysfunction the kingdom divided, and you see more bad kings than good kings in Israel’s history. They had issues as does everyone on the planet. What it means is that you need to stop and think before you do anything that will cause you trouble instead of peace.

You don’t need to attend more seminars or buy more books. You need to spend more time with Yeshuwa in prayer and Bible study. Fasting helps. Seek the wisdom of the Hagios Pneuma before you start your day. Ask yourself – What would Yeshuwa do? You might recall it was a common statement a few years back. It makes you stop and think before you do something irrational. Give your trouble to Yeshuwa. Seek peace and pursue it.

Psalm 34:13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. 14 Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. 11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of KURIOS are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of KURIOS is against those who do evil.” 13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” 15 But sanctify the Kurios Theos in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christos may be ashamed.

You can change your dysfunctional life to a functional one in Yeshuwa Christos. Only Yeshuwa can make it happen.

Let’s pray: Father, help me live a life worthy of You. Change my dysfunctional life to one worthy of the name Christian. Put a guard on my mouth and in my heart. Help me seek You and Your wisdom before I do anything. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
