Day 346 – Diligent

Proverbs 12:27 The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, but diligence is man’s precious possession.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Huios of Anthropos – Son of Man

Kurios – Supreme Authority

Theos – Supreme Divinity

God’s character:

Provider

You know lazy people when you see them. They make boastful claims, but when it comes to doing what they boast about, they have excuses about why they can’t do it right then. However, a diligent person doesn’t waste time with claims about what he can do, he does it.

Solomon was a man of action. He wasn’t only the king of Israel; he was a landowner and employer.

Ecclesiastes 2:4 I made my works great; I built myself houses and planted myself vineyards. 5 I made gardens and orchards, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. 6 I made water pools from which to water the growing trees of the grove. 7 I bought male and female servants, and had servants born in my house. Yes, I had greater possessions of herds and flocks than all who were in Jerusalem before me. 8 I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the special treasures of kings and of the provinces. I bought male and female singers, the delights of the sons of men, and musical instruments of all kinds. 9 So I became great and excelled more than all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also, my wisdom remained with me.

When you became a Christian, you committed your life to His service. Yet how many Christians sit on their hands and expect someone else to do the work?

Matthew 24:42 “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Kurios is coming. 43 Know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore, you also be ready, for the Huios of Anthropos is coming at an hour you do not expect. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 However, if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Yeshuwa expects you to be diligent in everything He calls you to do for Him. Do everything He appoints you to do with the best of your ability. Don’t hold back and don’t expect someone else to carry the load.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of Theos.

Yeshuwa provides everything you need to fulfill His calling on your life. You are without excuse. Don’t be a lazy Christian. Be the person who will step up and answer His call with an affirmative yes.

Let’s pray: Father, help me to be faithful in everything You call me to do for You. Don’t let excuses form on my lips, but rather, give my hands and feet swift purpose to do Your will.
