What makes a snack? Does it need to be sweet, salty, sour, or just something to eat in the moment because it’s not mealtime yet?
Most of my snacks fall in the between mealtime category. I don’t want a full meal, but something to tide me over until mealtime. Usually, it’s fruit. For instance, it’s too early for breakfast, but I was hungry. I ate grapes. Grapes have a perfect blend of sweetness and satisfaction.
One of the goals I made for 2026 is no sweets – candy, cookies, cake, things of that nature. So far, I’ve kept that goal. Therefore, when it comes to snacks, it will be in the form of fruit or cheese, which I also always have on hand. Another snack I will eat and don’t consider it to be in the sweet category, though it is, is dark chocolate. Why dark chocolate? It’s brain food. It’s also good for the heart. It’s one of those necessary foods that are beneficial to you.
What’s your go-to snack? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
