I have several passions in my life.
First, Bible Study. Before I accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, He was already preparing me for that moment when I would be totally His. I was born on Sunday and attended church and Sunday school every Sunday. I also went to parochial school. When I accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, the foundation He built in me, brought me eagerly to His Word daily. It is not only something I do out of habit, It’s something I enjoy doing.

Second, Rock Painting. I love to go to the ADRC twice a month to paint rocks. I used to go every week, but I haven’t figured out yet how to split myself into two people. Now, if they would change the day, I would be there every week. It’s the most relaxing thing I do and brings so much pleasure to my life. Above you see a few of the rocks I painted for Christmas.
Third, Canasta. Until I moved to this complex, I had never played Canasta. I didn’t know what to expect of the game. I had seen it played at my grandmother’s home when I was growing up, but I wanted to be outside, not confined to the dining room table. My play days are over, and I eagerly sit at the table and enjoy a few hours of laughter with other like-minded women in the building. I enjoyed two games yesterday. Each team won a game, making it thoroughly enjoyable.
Fourth, Swimming. I don’t go swimming as much as I used to when I owned a car. Now I am at the mercy of my neighbor. We went together to the Kroc Center last November so she could get a membership, but other obligations have kept her from going and me from enjoying a few laps in the pool. I will get there again. I just don’t know when.

Fifth, Writing. I’m adding this one last, not because it’s my least favorite activity, but because it’s my favorite after Bible study. I started writing when I was 8 years old. I loved making up stories and was always with paper and pen. The day came when I changed my focus from just writing them down, to actively working toward becoming an author. My dream was realized in 2012 when I published Scarred for the first time and held my first book in my hands. Since then I published eight more books, and in the next two years, I will add four more books to my bookshelves. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to work on a new book and bring characters to life on the screen and I hope on your bookshelves or Kindles.

These are my passions. What are yours? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The images belong to me.
