Day 23 – Freedom
Proverbs 14:31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Asah, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.
- God’s names:
- Asah – Become, Bring Forth, Labor, Maker
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Elohiym – Supreme God
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- Soter – Savior
- Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord
- God’s character:
- Honor
- Merciful
- Maker
When you think about oppression, a couple of things come to mind – workplaces where the employer treats his employees with disrespect, causing a lot of turnovers, and slavery. No one wants to feel oppressed. They avoid such situations as much as possible. Those are only two examples. I’m sure you can think of others. When an employer treats his employees with respect and honor, he sees good things coming his way.
Solomon saw oppression from Israel’s enemies, from the way people treated each other, and even from members of his family. He saw JEHOVAH’S blessings on those who honored others and were themselves honored by Elohiym in return.
When Yeshuwa became your Savior, you realized how much Satan oppressed you. His lies caused you to sin and think nothing about your actions. However, with Yeshuwa as your Soter and Kurios, you can see through Satan’s temptations and turn away from them. He no longer oppresses you.
Yeshuwa took your oppression to the cross. He suffered for you so that you don’t need to suffer needlessly at Satan’s hands. When He fulfilled His mission to free you from Satan’s oppression, He cried out in a loud voice – It is finished. Three days later, He rose from the dead and gave you the opportunity to accept His salvation.
You no longer live in oppression. You live in freedom.
Have you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios? Do you live in freedom or oppression? If you feel the oppression from Satan, you can change that by accepting Yeshuwa as your Soter and Kurios and know what freedom feels like.
Let’s pray: Father, I am a sinner. Free me from the bondage of oppression Satan puts on me daily. I accept Your Son as my Savior and turn away from the bad choices in my life and embrace the freedom found only in Your Son. Break the chains of oppression in my life and help me stand in freedom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
