Day 52 – Beauty
Proverbs 15:30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones healthy.
- God’s names:
- Yeshuwa – Jesus
- JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- God’s character:
- Joy
Why do people take vacations or holidays? What do you plan to do when you visit places you’ve never been to before? Don’t you want to see nature in all its splendour. Your eyes can’t get enough of the beauty this earth holds. You don’t need to go on a vacation or holiday to see the beauty of a sunset or sunrise — to see the wonders in your own back yard. In the same way as nature delights the eyes, so too does a good report from those you love — it makes the heart glad and makes your bones healthy. Your whole body feels better with good news.
Solomon rejoiced in JEHOVAH’S creation, in the beauty he saw every day. He knew how a good report made him happy and rejoice in everything JEHOVAH did for him.
Yeshuwa told the people to look at the beauty of creation and not worry about things they could not control.
Matthew 6:25 “Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (NKJV)
Life is more than the clothes you wear or the food you eat. There’s beauty everywhere. You only need to open your eyes to see it.
In the same way you see the beauty around you, when you hear good news from friends and loved ones, it fills you with joy and gladness. Your body becomes healthy with good news.
Don’t allow the bad reports you hear, or the filth you see cloud your vision. It only tears down your soul. Instead, pray for those reports you hear that could rupture your soul and feed you with ill-will for those around you. Don’t allow the the terrible things your eyes see, cause you to turn away from the goodness Yeshuwa wants to show you.
When I thought about today’s study, a hymn I sang often as child, came to mind. Here are the lyrics. I hope they will fill you with the joy Yeshuwa wants to give you.
For the Beauty of the Earth
1. For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.
Refrain: Lord of all to Thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.
2. For the wonder of each hour,
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flower,
Sun and moon, and stars of light.(Refrain)
3. For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild.(Refrain)
4. For the church, that evermore
Lifteth holy hands above,
Offering up on every shore
Her pure sacrifice of love.(Refrain)
5. For Thyself, best Gift Divine.
To our race so freely given,
For that great, great love of Thine,
Peace on earth and joy in Heaven.(Refrain)

Let’s pray: Father, the reports we see on television cloud my mind to Your goodness. Open my eyes to see the wonders of Your creation, to see beauty instead of decay and know the joy in good news. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
