Day 90 – Peace
Proverbs 17:14 The beginning of strife is like releasing water; therefore, stop contention before a quarrel starts.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Theos – Supreme Divinity
- God’s character:
- Peacemaker
You see them as children on the playground. You see them in the workplace. You see them wherever you go — people who love to cause trouble for others. As children you call them bullies. They loved making trouble as children and they continue to cause strife in the workplace and in the home, making their spouse feel incompetent.
Solomon saw it in his courts and as an employer. He knew the only way to stop strife was to stop it before it could take hold. He would have no dealings with people like that either as king or as an employer. He trusted YAHWEH to keep peace in his kingdom.
As Christians, you need the discernment of the Hagios Pneuma to stay away from those who are eager to cause trouble in the church as well as in your home and workplace. Yeshuwa will guard you from evil. You only need to pray and seek His face, and He will take care of the troublemakers in your life.
You are to live in peace as much as you can with everyone. When it becomes impossible, you need to pray and trust Yeshuwa to take care of you. He will.
Those who cause strife make your business their business so they can upbraid you and cause you grief. Paul told the people they were to do their own business and not meddle in other people’s work.
1 Thessalonians 4:9 But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by Theos to love one another; 10 and indeed you do so toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; 11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
People who cause trouble are everywhere. Don’t be one of them. Give your work to Yeshuwa and He will give you peace in your labor.
Let’s pray: Father, help me do my work to Your glory and praise. Keep those who want to cause trouble away from me so that my life will reflect you. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
