What kind of memberships do you possess, but don’t use? People want many things in life. One is to get into better physical shape. It’s the number one thing on every New Year’s resolution. People will buy gym memberships and after the first month, they’re not seen in the gym again until next January. Memberships are like that. You might use them a few times, then the card sits unused in your wallet.
People buy books and never read them. How many books sit on your shelves unopened? If you never open books that can teach you something, you will never learn.
Solomon saw people going through the motions but not embracing what YAHWEH offered them. Everything Elohiym offered, His chosen people didn’t use. The Torah was useful for daily living, but if the people didn’t open the Torah, or pay attention to their religious leaders who tried to teach them what YAHWEH required of them, it didn’t matter. They held wisdom in their hands but did nothing about what their teachers taught them.
Christians are the same way. They accept Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios, promise they will go to church so they can learn what Yeshuwa wants them to know, and even buy a Bible or download the app and tell themselves they will read the Bible. Yet their church attendance is sporadic. If they go to church, it’s for the social aspect and not what the minister teaches from Yeshuwa’s Word. If they own a Bible, they don’t open it. If they download the app, they don’t open it.
Yeshuwa said not to cast your pearls before swine.
Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces. (NKJV)
When you don’t open your Bible, pay attention to the minister to learn and understand Yeshuwa’s Word, it’s the same as casting your pearls before swine. Your pearl is Yeshuwa’s Word. It is precious because it gives you understanding and wisdom. When you don’t open it, you’re casting wisdom and understanding aside as useless.
Dust off the Bible on your bookshelf. Open the Bible app on your phone. Find out what Yeshuwa wants you to know and understand. Don’t let Yeshuwa’s Word remain useless in your hands like the gym membership you haven’t used since the first month you had it. When you do you will begin to understand what Yeshuwa wants from you.
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does YAHWEH require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your Elohiym?
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Your Bible is useless unless you open it. Open it today and gain wisdom and understanding. Then you will know Yeshuwa’s heart for you.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your Word which is precious to me. Help me to open it and study it every day so I will know Your heart for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
