Day 97 – Justice
Proverbs 17:23 A wicked man accepts a bribe behind the back to pervert the ways of justice.
- God’s names:
- YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
- Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
- Kurios – Supreme Authority, Lord
- Christos – Anointed One, Messiah
- God’s character:
- Just
Since time began people thought they could bribe their way out of trouble. They would work any con they could to stay out of jail or prison. Corruption is still high in law and government.
Solomon was not blind to the ways of the people. He saw how bribery affected justice and spoke against it. He spoke often about just weights and scales because it was common for people to pervert the Law to their purpose. He also knew how much YAHWEH hated injustice and came against it when he could.
As Christians, you often hear about corruption in the church — ministers who prey on people’s pocketbooks for their own gain in the name of Yeshuwa.
Yeshuwa warned about people who walked about in sheep’s clothing but were ravenous wolves.
Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. 21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Kurios, Kurios,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Pater in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Kurios, Kurios have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Paul knew those who called themselves Christians were also out to fleece the flock of Iesous Christos.
Acts 20:29 “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also, from among yourselves men will rise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.
When a ministry approaches you about giving into their ministry, do a deep dive into their financials to see what kind of ministry wants your money. Only when you have learned everything you can about the ministry and you have prayed about what Yeshuwa would have you do, will you keep yourself safe from those who want to take for themselves.
Let’s pray: Father, open my eyes to the pleas of those who ask for help. Let me know who Your servants are who do the work of the kingdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
