Day 104 – Refuge

Proverbs 18:10 The name of YAHWEH is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

• YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
• Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus

• God’s character:
• Strong Tower
• Righteous

Where is your safe place? Where do you run to when life gets chaotic? I don’t know if everyone has a place they go to when life overwhelms them. I did when I was young. I would leave the house and go to the train platform behind an old, abandoned factory and sit there until I could return home. It wasn’t uncommon for me to find a place to go when life took a turn as an adult. That’s when I found my favorite park and I could just sit there and watch the water on the Bay. It brought peace to my soul. Where is your safe place?

Solomon knew the only safe place was found in YAHWEH. His name exuded safety and those who trusted Him found peace in Him.

As Christians, life can overwhelm you when Satan attacks and doesn’t let up. That’s when you lean into Yeshuwa. He said to come to Him, and you will find rest for your soul.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (NKJV)

What trials and tests are you facing right now? Turn to Yeshuwa and He will keep you safe in the storms Satan brings against you.

Let’s pray: Father, when life becomes too much, let me find peace and safety in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
