Day 108 – JEHOVAH Rapha

Proverbs 18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?

• Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus

Many people with life-threatening illnesses are some of the happiest people in the world. They always have a smile on their face even when they are in unimaginable pain. People have been known to live longer than the original doctor’s diagnosis due to their positive attitude. However, when a person lives with criticism and negativity, it can break the spirit, and nothing can lift a person from the mire of despair.

Solomon knew what a broken spirit felt like. He lived in a culture where people tortured or berated another person until they died broken and humiliated. Solomon also knew the cure for a broken spirit — laughter. He said it was the best medicine. Laughter gave a person a positive outlook on life. He also knew the One who could cure even a broken spirit — YAHWEH.

When life looks at its worst, the only place a person can go is Elohiym. He was and always will be JEHOVAH Rapha our healer.

Exodus 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of YAHWEH your Elohiym and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am JEHOVAH Rapha.”

Christians lean on this verse and others like it that claim Yeshuwa is our healer. Yet they don’t fully believe it. In one breath they quote the verse and in the next breath they hope He will heal them. Hope cancels out the faith to believe He will heal you. Hope is companion to doubt and fear.

I know what you are thinking — Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (NKJV) True, but when you claim your healing in one breath and then hope for it in the next, that isn’t hope, it’s doubt.

Yeshuwa said that if you believe in your heart, you can move mountains.

Matthew 17:19 Then the disciples came to Iesous privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 Iesous said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

In the same way a broken spirit will never be healed because doubt and unbelief work in your life more than the faith to believe in your healing.

The only cure for sickness and disease is unwavering faith. Applying a positive attitude and laughter is the best medicine. Laughter defies sickness and disease and faith in Yeshuwa completes the cure.

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Don’t let a broken spirit dry up your bones and consume your life. Have faith in Yeshuwa that moves mountains and laugh. Joy and a good attitude will cure every disease.

Let’s pray: Father, You are JEHOVAH Rapha, our healer. Give me the faith that believes and cast doubt and fear from my life, so that I am standing in Your unconditional love and healing for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
