Gifts come in many forms. It isn’t only in the shape of Christmas or birthday gifts, but also in the form of endowments people give for causes they believe in. Such endowments bring attention to the person giving it and those who receive the endowment appreciate the giver and want to meet them.
The queen of Sheba gave generous gifts to Solomon who showed his appreciation for the gifts she gave the kingdom. He answered her questions and showed her the prosperity Israel enjoyed because of YAHWEH.
1 Kings 10:1 Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of YAHWEH, she came to test him with hard questions. 2 She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart. 3 Then Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her. 4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, 5 the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of YAHWEH, there was no more spirit in her. 6 Then she said to the king, “It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. 7 However, I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed, half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard. 8 Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom! 9 Blessed be YAHWEH your Elohiym, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because YAHWEH has loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness.” 10 Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
People don’t need to be as elaborate as the queen of Sheba in showing their appreciation for what people do. Simple acts of kindness can also bring attention to what you do for others and cause people to be grateful for your kindness.
Yeshuwa shows His appreciation every day when you give Him honor and glory for what He did for you in saving your life from destruction through His death and resurrection. His gift makes room in your life for you to show your appreciation to Him for everything He does for you.
Many Christians do not see what Yeshuwa does for them when the only thing they see in their lives is hardship.
Consider what Paul said about the hardship he faced.
2 Corinthians 11:22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I. 23 Are they ministers of Christ? —I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. 24 From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness— 28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation? 30 If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity. 31 The Theos and Pater of our Kurios Iesous Christos, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
Despite everything Paul endured he never took His eyes off what Yeshuwa did for Him in giving him the gift of eternal life.
What you give to Yeshuwa will bring you before Him, the greatest Basileus, when He ushers you into His presence as BASILEUS of Basileus and KURIOS of Kurios.
What have you given Him today? Let your life be a gift to Him for everything He does for you.
Let’s pray: Father, I give myself to You. Everything I am and have belongs to You. I give You praise, honor, and glory for everything You did for me. Let my life be an instrument of praise in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
