Day 114 – Marriage

Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from YAHWEH.

Marriage has always been called a sacred institution. One of the most joyous in a woman’s life. Young girls dream and plan for the day they will get married.

Solomon knew the favor YAHWEH showered on him. He had more wives than any man in history with 300 and he also had 700 concubines. Yet among his many wives, he singled out one woman and wrote an entire book about her — the book called either Song of Solomon or Song of Songs depending on your Bible translation.

Adonay instituted marriage in the Garden of Eden when He made a helpmate for Adam and brought her to him. Marriage was meant to be a union of two people working together side by side. Sin changed that. Because Eve gave the fruit to Adam, he became her head and she was to give obedience to him.

Genesis 3:16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you will bring forth children; your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

Marriage is no longer what YAHWEH meant it to be. Satan corrupted it. However, Solomon still said a wife brought YAHWEH’S favor.

When you became a Christian, you obtained a new spouse —Yeshuwa. He became your head.

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to Kurios. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christos is head of the church; and He is the Soter of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christos, let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christos also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 Therefore, husband’s ought to love their wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.

Isaiah 54:5 For your Asah is your husband, YAHWEH of Tsaba is His name; And your Ga’al is the Qadowsh of Israel; He is called the Elohiym of the whole earth.

Yeshuwa is your life, He is your husband, and He gives you favor as His bride. Do you honor Him as your head, or have you cast Him aside in favor of your wants and pleasures?

Solomon’s many wives drew him away from YAHWEH. It wasn’t until He returned to YAHWEH that he realized the favor He gave him in his wife.

When you give Yeshuwa first place in your life, you will find His favor on your life, and you will know His love.

Let’s pray: Father, show me Your favor and love as I submit myself to You as my husband. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
