Day 122 – Lifestyle

Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will perish.

  • God’s names:
  • YAHWEH/JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
  • Yeshuwa/Iesous – Jesus
  • Soter – Savior
  • Kurios – Supreme Authority
  • Theos – Supreme Divinity
  • Pneuma – Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
  • God’s character:
  • Truth
  • Judge

People believe they are above reproach; they will never get caught when they do something wrong, even when it’s clear they’re the ones who caused the trouble and then lie about it or ask someone to give false testimony about what they did. The fact that they ask people to lie for them shows someone always knows what they did.

Solomon spoke often about false witnesses and liars. He let people know they would be punished for wrongdoing.

Proverbs 6:12 A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth; 13 he winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers; 14 perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually, he sows discord. 15 Therefore, his calamity will come suddenly; suddenly he will be broken without remedy. 16 These six things YAHWEH hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

Even if a person goes through their entire lives without being caught, they will still face YAHWEH and face an eternity of separation from Him for the trouble they caused in life.

What kind of life did you lead before you accepted Yeshuwa as Soter and Kurios? People who want to escape eternal damnation will confess their sins in their prayer for salvation but still have no intention of changing their lifestyle. You find many people in the church who make a habit of gossiping, telling lies about what they see and protecting their own reputations. Their confession of faith wasn’t genuine or lifechanging.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, Theos is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Pneuma will of the Pneuma reap everlasting life.

People who live for themselves will reap their destructive lifestyle when they face Theos in eternity. He will judge their actions and send them to their eternal destination.

Yeshuwa told the people at the Sermon on the Mount what would happen if they continued to live their lives without change.

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (NKJV)

Paul told the people what they faced with an unchanged lifestyle.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of Theos? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of Theos.

Ephesians 5:3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christos and Theos. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of Theos comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore, do not be partakers with them.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (NKJV)

Christians who make a genuine confession of faith in Yeshuwa will change their lifestyle and will not face destruction when He calls them home. They will hear Him say: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Let’s pray: Father, I am Your child. Keep my feet on the narrow path, and my thoughts and actions those that honor You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
